History

The Calgary & District Cricket League (C&DCL) is the largest cricket league in the 4000km between Vancouver and Toronto. The C&DCL was founded in 1908 and was registered under the Societies Act of Alberta in 1958.

The League has grown immensely since 2000, and now comprises of the following leagues:

Weekend 50 Over League - 25 teams across 4 Divisions in 2011

Weekend T20 League - 24 teams across 3 Divisions in 2011

Weekdays 20 Over League - 14 teams across 2 Divisions in 2010, TBD in 2011.

Junior League - New in 2011! U15 and U12 Divisions

The C&DCL is affiliated to Cricket Alberta, who represents the C&DCL and other Alberta leagues to Cricket Canada. Cricket Canada in turn are affiliated with the ICC Americas Regional Office. Numerous Calgary players have gone on to represent Canada at Senior Mens, Senior Womens and Junior levels.

Matches are held at Riley Park (2 fields), Inland Athetic Park (2 fields), Westwinds Drypond and Martindale Cricket Ground. Clubs & teams do not have home grounds, so they are not geographically based in certain areas of the city.
